Hotel Sonnegg is located in the middle of three premium ski resorts: Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn, Schmitten in Zell am See and the Kitzsteinhorn/Maiskogel Kaprun glacier ski area.

From our hotel, it’s easy to reach all areas in one day. And that means: limitless skiing enjoyment is guaranteed. With a total of 408 kilometres of slopes and 119 state-of-the-art lifts, you can catch a gondola from one peak to your next descent and back again. Your access to skiing enjoyment is just 400 metres from the Hotel Sonnegg via the Schönleiten cable car, but you don’t have to walk there – instead, we can take you there and back in our private hotel shuttle bus.

It’s not all about the downhill

But not only skiers and snowboarders get their money’s worth in Saalbach. A five-kilometre cross-country skiing route, a toboggan run that can also be used at night, many idyllic winter hiking paths and a floodlit slope ensure there’s something to entertain all winter sports fans. And for those who appreciate fine cuisine, there are some wonderful mountain restaurants serving homely meals and providing the respite you need after an active day.

Perfect for your active mountain winter

Hotel Sonnegg is located 400 meters from the Schönleiten cable car. So you never have to go far for your skiing pleasure.

Nevertheless, our private ski shuttle will take you to the ski lift in the morning from 08:45 to 10:30 and pick you up there again from 15:00 to 16:30. So just hop on our Mercedes bus and comfortably make the two-minute drive to the ski lift. Speaking of skiing: Ski tickets are easily and conveniently available at our reception.

For many years, the Heugenhauser Ski School has been our reliable partner when it comes to the necessary ski equipment and a ski course for young and old. Just 400 metres from the Hotel Sonnegg, you can easily and conveniently buy or hire your ski gear, and book a ski lesson.

Professionally trained ski instructors offer tailor-made ski courses for all ability groups. And for our youngest visitors, there’s also a kids’ area next to the lift, where they can have fun while learning to ski.

We all know that no one is born a master Luckily, the Heugenhauser ski school isn’t far from the Hotel Sonnegg – they’re a reliable partner for all the right gear or ski lessons for visitors both young and old. Just 400 metres from the Hotel Sonnegg, you can easily and conveniently buy or hire your ski gear, and book a ski lesson. And for our youngest visitors, there’s also a kids’ area next to the lift, where they can have fun while learning to ski.

One ski pass, infinite possibilities

The ski passes you can get conveniently from us at reception are valid on all lifts in the Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn ski resort, on the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See and on the Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun. So this is the place to get all of the right ski passes for a perfect day on the pistes near Salzburg: single-day and multi-day ski passes, group passes and much more. What’s more: the ski pass for one day is valid from 3 pm the day before. For those who just can’t wait, you can venture onto the slopes as soon as you’ve arrived at the Hotel Sonnegg – floodlit pistes and nighttime tobogganing are also included.
